An enriching summer, filled with exciting opportunities for older youth to learn and grow – that’s the goal of Xtreme Xpeditions Summer Camp (XXSC). These weekday activities are tailored for youth with disabilities ages 12 to 21 and designed to deliver fun, action and education in appealing ways.

Getting Xtreme

XXSC is designed to blend learning with activities to create a typical summer day camp experience. Activities range from exercising and cooking to creek stomps, horseback riding, field trips and theater. Trained camp counselors and peer buddies assist the individuals along the way. Youth are encouraged to give it their all, to the best of their ability.

Participants must commit to attending all nine weeks of the camp, which is held from mid-June through mid-August at Freeport High School. Sessions run from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. A fee is charged with partial scholarships available to those with demonstrated need.

MALCOLM EATON Enterprises operates Xtreme Xpeditions Summer Camp in collaboration with Freeport School District 145. MALCOLM EATON brings trained staff and expertise in programming for people with disabilities while the school district contributes the location, lunch service and various supplies.
